Bablake Old Boys CC granted Focus Club Status

Warwickshire Cricket Board (WCB) first granted the Club ECB Focus Club Status for an initial 12 month period 1n 2006, in recognition of the outstanding contribution that the Club is making towards Junior Cricket, and also the continued strength of the Administration at the Club. That the Club has retained and built upon this initial Award is a demonstration of the ongoing commitment by the Club towards achieving its declared Objectives.

Bablake Old Boys CC Codes of Conduct

The attached Codes of Conduct are published in the annual Club Handbook, as well as available on noticeboards in the pavilion.

Club Officials, Members and Persons responsible for Young Players shall;
• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person within the context of cricket.
• Treat everyone equally and do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, religion, race, sexual orientation or disability.
• If you witness any form of discrimination, do not condone it or allow it to go unchallenged.
• Consider the well-being and safety of young players before the development of performance.
• Develop an appropriate working relationship with players, based on mutual trust and respect.
• Be aware of and understand the ECB ‘Safe Hands’ Welfare of Young People Policy and Procedures.
• Follow all guidelines laid down by the ECB and the club.
• Always work in an open environment.
• Respect young people’s opinions when making decisions on their participation in cricket.
• Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part.
• Promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. ECB 'Spirit of the Game' and fair play)
• Display high standards of language, behaviour, punctuality and appearance.
• Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and insurance cover.
• Never exert undue influence over performers to obtain personal benefit or reward.
• Never condone rule violations, rough play or the use of prohibitive substances.

Additional Junior Club Rules;
As a junior member of Bablake Old Boys Cricket Club you are expected to abide by the following junior club rules:
• All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
• All members must respect opponents.
• Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.
• Members must wear suitable clothing for training and match sessions, as agreed with the coach/team manager. (Safety equipment such as helmet, gloves, pads and box will be provided by the club if required)
• Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
• Junior members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing the club at competitions.
• Junior members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
